Associate Attorney

Chantelle Biersay is an Associate Attorney in the firm's Transactional Practice. Her practice areas include corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, real estate law and development, estate planning and administration of estates.

Chantelle’s experience in the corporate arena has allowed her to represent both borrowers and lenders in complex and high value financial transactions involving debt and equity finance, acquisition finance, secured finance, project finance, senior secured loans and capital market transactions. She has been able to help clients pursue such transactions on terms that serve immediate and long-term objectives while extracting maximum value.

As the strategic and transactional counsel in real estate transactions, Chantelle has also represented real estate developers, individual entrepreneurs and private entities in structuring deals, leasing, acquiring and developing commercial and residential properties. She has handled high value real estate projects including hotels, shopping centers, office buildings and multi-family and major housing residential developments.

Chantelle has also assisted senior counsel and has been lead counsel in successful litigation matters and settlements concerning real estate law, administration of estates and debt recovery in the Supreme Court of Jamaica.
 
Academically, Chantelle is the holder of a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law and Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the Faculty of Law, UWI Mona, where she served as a Research Assistant.  Chantelle is also a graduate of the Norman Manley Law School, where she successfully completed her legal education by obtaining her Legal Education Certificate. 

Talented in dancing, Chantelle is a trained Classical Ballerina and Indian Dancer. Her journey in the preservation of East Indian Culture in Jamaica has allowed her to receive a myriad of cultural awards and accolades – with the most prestigious being the Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence in Arts and Culture in 2012.
